Tex Murphy: The Pandora Directive - a point and click classic

The Tex Murphy series of adventure games could well be described as classics of the era. With the advent of CD-ROM technology in the mid 1990s, a whole new world of possibilities opened up due to the vast increase in storage space - it was finally possible to use real time voice recordings and video clips.Tex Murphy: The Pandora Directive is the third game in the Tex Murphy series. As always, you begin in Murphy's modest office in the year 2043. Despite being down on his luck, and suffering from a pixellated appearance, Murphy perfectly encapsulates the classic trench coated, fedora sporting PI. His dry wit accompanies you as you navigate through the game's challenges. The gameplay for Tex Murphy: The Pandora Directive is very much point and click based - while you're able to move around, don't expect any fight scenes or skill based moves. That's no bad thing though - it's simple to play, and you can enjoy engaging with the storyline. Under your control, Tex is hired to investigate an intriguing mystery which gradually unfolds to reveal a well-written plot. Fans of sci-fi movies and alien conspiracies are certainly well catered for here. The video interactions are perhaps a little dated, but they still serve to drive the storyline along quite effectively.
